Kristin Wallace

PhD, LMHC-QS(FL), NCC, CFMHE, CCCE

Dr. Kristin K. Wallace is a licensed mental health professional in Florida who has been working with families for over 15 years, and in the field of mental health for 20 years. She attended Florida State University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, with a minor in abnormal psychology. She went to the University of Central Florida and pursued a Master's of Marriage and Family Therapy. Because seven years of college was not enough, Kristin pursued her Philosophy Doctorate in General Psychology, with a dissertation that focused on the lived experiences of marriage therapists and reflecting on the impact of their work on their own marriages. By the end, Krisitn had been in college for the same number of years she did K-12!

Dr. Wallace began her career working in crisis stabilization at Circles of Care, in Melbourne, FL, where she learned a great deal and absorbed incredible learning opportunities which shaped her ability to see cases from a number of angles. She has also worked with low income clients, children in the school setting, residential treatment for children on the Autism Spectrum, and private practice. She studied under Dr. Scott Fairchild, exposing her to the veteran population and testing and report writing. Her career has focused on the promotion of wellness in various populations and with various emphases in research. She worked on a scientific study with the University of Miami and the University of Central Florida, which evaluated feasibility, effect on resistance self-efficacy, and appeal of using an avatar based virtual reality technology game (DRAMA-RAMA) as the skill building component for the Mighty Girls intervention. She is currently working with the Life Aid Research Institute to assist service members in optimizing their mental health.

Dr. Wallace is passionate about mental health and divorcing families. She has a number of personal experiences where divorce has impacted her personal life. Her focus in all divorcing families is first the children, and then the parents' mental health. She is a collaborative professional in Brevard County and sits on her local practice group board of directors. Collaborative is a divorce process that utilizes problem solving strategies to find creative, workable solutions for the family post divorce. "Why cut what you an untie?" (Joseph Joubert)

Currently, Dr. Wallace teaches at the University of Central Florida as an adjunct professor in the Clinical Mental Health Department, and at California Southern University as a dissertation committee member. Dr. Wallace's main focus of her career is in private practice in Melbourne, Florida, where her work focuses on families, trauma, and high conflict divorce. She is a Social Investigator and Certified Family Mediator. In her free time, Dr. Wallace is a wife and a mother to six biological children and three fur babies (one of which makes her debut in the office as a therapy dog). She is a car enthusiast and enjoys watching sports (mainly basketball and college football). When she has a spare moment, you can find her drinking kava and socializing with friends and playing board games.

Personal Message:
I am passionate about mental health. I believe that no situation is beyond repair, and that you are deserving of a good life. When it feels like we've been handed a crappy hand, learning to strategize to maximize the long game can be the best maneuver. I am not your average therapist. I know that I am not everyone's cup of tea. I embrace that and I do not apologize for what I house within me. And hopefully I will teach you to do the same. If you decide to work with me, I guarantee we will have meaningful conversation. I will provide proven strategies to assist in bringing meaningful change and removing barriers to your happiness.

As a Registered Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapist Intern and Registered Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern, I’m passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find peace and connection in moments of struggle. I work with adults, teens (15+), families, and couples navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, relational conflict, and life transitions. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow.

My therapeutic style is goal-oriented, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe to explore their emotions and experiences without judgment. I use an integrative approach drawing from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method, Prepare/Enrich, and Person-Centered techniques. Together, we work to identify what’s holding you back, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward the version of yourself and relationships you desire.

I’m especially passionate about helping clients heal from past experiences that continue to affect their present.

Whether you’re seeking clarity in your relationships, relief from anxiety, or simply a place to process life’s stressors, my goal is to help you build inner peace, safety, and balance. Through mindfulness and self-regulation practices, we work to reconnect you with calm and confidence — so you can find comfort and happiness, even in challenging times.

Hi, I’m a counseling intern who believes that healing starts with being truly seen and heard. My approach is person-centered and integrative, which means I meet you where you are—with empathy, respect, and curiosity—so we can work together toward the changes that matter most to you.

I work with people from all walks of life, but I’m especially passionate about helping those navigating trauma, PTSD, personality disorders, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. I understand that life’s challenges can leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about who we are—and my goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space to explore those experiences and move toward growth and healing.

In our sessions, you can expect authenticity, collaboration, and a nonjudgmental environment where your story is honored and your strengths are recognized.

I specialize in supporting adolescents and adults navigating trauma, neurodiversity, grief, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity exploration. As an EMDR-certified therapist, I draw from evidence-based approaches and a holistic lens, integrating expressive modalities such as sandtray and play therapy to support healing through both mind and body.

I have experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and military families and provide a safe, affirming environment grounded in compassion and respect. I also speak Japanese and offer culturally attuned care for clients seeking support in either language. If you’re looking for trauma-informed, holistic care to navigate life’s challenges, I invite you to reach out to see if we’re a good fit.

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Life gets heavy sometimes—grief, anxiety, trauma, or big transitions can leave you feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. I'm here to walk alongside you in those moments, offering a calm, supportive space where you can feel truly heard and begin to heal.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent nearly 20 years as a board-certified hospital chaplain, supporting individuals and families in trauma, ICU, oncology, pediatrics, and long-term care. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, a Master of Science in Patient Counseling from VCU/MCV, and a Master of Divinity from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.

I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults facing depression, anxiety, grief, chronic illness, trauma, and life transitions. My approach is person-centered and integrative, using cognitive behavioral, existential, and eclectic methods. If spirituality is important to you, I’m happy to incorporate that into our work together.

Outside of the counseling room, I’m a wife, mom to one daughter, and dog mom to two beloved furry companions. A former elite long-distance runner and U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon, I bring the same persistence, resilience, and goal-setting mindset to my work with clients as I once brought to the starting line.

You don’t have to do this alone. I’d be honored to meet you where you are.
